Adalo Maker Updates

The latest updates and product improvements for the Adalo no-code mobile app builder platform.

Introducing the X-Ray Feature for Enhanced Auditing

We're excited to introduce Adalo X-Ray, a tool which can help Makers optimize application performance. The initial version of this tool is informational in nature, pointing out screens containing nested lists (which are known to slow down an app), potentially overly-complicated screens, and app database query statistics.

Adalo X-Ray is currently available in a limited beta to a small group of Makers. We expect it to be released to a wider audience later in June. If you would like early access, please email our support team at [email protected].

Implemented targeted and progressive feature rollout process

We have implemented a more rigorous code deployment process as part of a larger plan to reduce if not hopefully entirely eliminate occasional regression errors and avoid unintended "surprises" pertaining to edge case issues.
  1. Deploy to internal team for a period of several days to several weeks.
  2. Invite Friends of Adalo to test the new feature. Friends of Adalo in the moniker given to a group of Adalo experts who are actively building and maintaining multiple production apps on the Adalo platform. We will then incorporate any feedback provided by this group.
  3. Initiate a progressive rollout, starting with 10% of the user base. Incorporate feedback and bug fixes communicated to the dev team via customer success.
  4. Increase rollout to 50% of the user base. Continue incorporating feedback and bug fixes communicated to the dev team via customer success.
  5. Bump rollout to 100% of the user base.

Updated the default components interface tab view

For some time now the Adalo Builder has defaulted to the Sections tab when the Components interface is opened. This wasn't optimal because the typical Maker is far more likely to want to select more popular components like Text, Button, or App Bar. So with this update Makers will see the Components tab displayed in order to save most users a click.

Enhanced Screen Deep Linking Capabilities

We've made an improvement to our Screen Deep Linking feature. Now, query values in the ScreenDeepLinking component are automatically initialized and set based on existing aliases, enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of deep linking within your app.

This update ensures that when your app uses deep links, the correct data is displayed without any manual adjustments, providing a smoother experience for your users.

New Admin Feature: Manage User Sessions

We're excited to introduce a new feature that empowers admins with enhanced session management capabilities. Now, admins can terminate user sessions directly from within the application. This new functionality includes a 'dropConnection' method that provides admins with the ability to manage active user sessions more effectively.

When a user session is terminated, they will receive a notification via the new 'RemovedFromRoomModal' component. This modal provides clear communication about the session termination, ensuring users are aware of any changes. We've also updated the styling of the user interface to include a visually distinct kick button, enhancing the clarity and ease of use for admins during session management tasks.

Enhanced Deep Linking and UI Improvements

We're excited to announce enhancements to our UI with significant improvements to deep linking functionality. The updated DeepLinking component now includes a unique route validation feature, ensuring you avoid duplicate alias entries, making navigation more reliable and efficient.

We've also refined the fallback process with updated styling for save buttons, adjusting margins and alignment for a cleaner look. You'll notice the improved structure and functionality, including error state management that clearly displays validation errors, helping you troubleshoot with ease.

Additionally, we've made subtle yet impactful UI tweaks by removing deprecated CSS classes and simplifying layout management, leading to a more streamlined user experience. These enhancements collectively provide a more intuitive, user-friendly interface.

Enhanced Xano Integration with Private Swagger Support

We're excited to introduce a new feature that enhances our integration with Xano by supporting Private Swagger documentation. This update allows you to configure your environment more flexibly with the addition of an optional Swagger API token in the ExternalCollectionsForm. This token is securely managed and masked within the interface to ensure your data remains protected.

We've also made improvements to the validation functions and user authentication processes, allowing for smoother API interactions with the inclusion of appId and token parameters. These enhancements ensure a more secure and streamlined experience when integrating with Xano.

Streamlined Codebase with Removed App Actions

We've simplified our platform by removing some components that were related to app actions, which means a more efficient and focused application experience for you. The changes include the removal of the AppActionsOverTimeChart and AppActionsByAppChart components, which were not commonly used.

This cleanup helps us provide a smoother and faster experience, by focusing on the most essential functionalities that matter to you. While these changes are more behind-the-scenes, they contribute to an overall more robust and streamlined platform.
